About Us
Behind Our Independent Media Platform
Who We Are
Anahon is an independent media platform launched as a youth-led initiative in Lebanon in 2017 and officially registered as a civic non-profit in 2023. The platform fosters democracy, freedom of speech, and community representation by providing a media incubator that supports podcasts, investigative reports, and media campaigns. By promoting cultural, social, and political awareness, Anahon empowers voices across Lebanon, especially among the youth.
Scope of Work
From its base in Tripoli, Lebanon, Anahon extends its influence through multimedia platforms and social media, reaching various Lebanese regions. Anahon’s platforms, including the “IContent” training program and the “كل مسؤول مسؤول” advocacy platform, are dedicated to raising awareness, promoting transparency, and holding public officials accountable.
Goals
Anahon aims to build a media-literate, civically engaged society in Lebanon. Its two main missions are: to empower marginalized voices and foster transparency through media training, reporting, and campaigns; and to use media as a tool for civic engagement, holding authorities accountable, and promoting good governance.
Actions
Anahon achieves its goals through high-quality documentaries and investigative reports on critical societal issues; workshops for aspiring journalists and content creators on media skills; partnerships with NGOs and institutions for advocacy campaigns; ongoing support for local journalists, helping them report on underserved topics; legal and technical support for media creators facing censorship; and a strong online presence, including interactive social media content.
Work Structure
Anahon is overseen and managed by a dedicated team of professionals in strategic guidance, management, research, production, and content creation. This team includes specialists in journalism, legal consulting, and digital media, all working to uphold Anahon’s commitment to media integrity and public accountability.
Operating Environment
Operating in a complex political landscape, Anahon confronts challenges like censorship, political opposition, and financial instability. Yet, its commitment to empowering the community through free expression remains resolute.
